Welcoming Matavia Furst Lady to the team!

I am delighted to announce I am now the new owner of the 4 year old mare, Matavia Furst Lady, aka, Lizzie. Massive thank you to Matavia Stud, Rachel and Adrian Whiting, along with Sharon Cox for this wonderful opportunity. Also thank you to my coach Ruth Schneeberger! Looking forward to the journey ahead!

"Lizzie" is by Furst Nymphenburg and out of a Pommery mare. Bred by Matavia Performance horses and purchased from Sharon Cox and Rachel and Adrian Whiting.

2014 SA Dressage Spring Championships!

I was entrusted with a ride for Spring Champs by a good friend, as I felt Hatero deserved a small break after WEG. After only less than a few weeks of rides on German Riding Pony, FS Golden Storm (owned by Karina Laudato), we placed 3rd in the PSG with 62.6% and then 1st in the EA (we did advanced) Freestyle with 66.5%! And against a competitive field against all the big horses!! Good day at the office :)

September 2014

Finally back in AUS!

Competing at the 2014 World Equestrian Games (WEG) was the most incredible experience of my entire life. Nothing will ever compare to what I felt when I first entered that International arena for the very first time. To return home with a top 10 placing was the absolute icing on the cake. Hatero de PB performed for me every second, he has such a big heart. I love him.

I would like to thank all of my sponsors, friends and family for their ongoing support - you all know who you are. Without each and every one of you, my dreams of representing my country would not have come true. So, thank you.

Casey Hallett played the role of my super groom in France! She cared for Hatero like he was her own, and she had him looking fabulous throughout the entire campaign! Thank you Casey, couldn't have done it without you!

July 2014

Wow, I still get goosebumps every time I think about this. My ultimate dreams have just come true! Hatero de PB and I have been selected to represent Australia in Para-Equestrian for the 2014 World Equestrian Games, in Normandy, France!!! I would not have had this opportunity without owners of Hatero, Heather Currie and Kerrie Massey. Thank you so much, you have made my dreams come true! Massive thank you to my coaches, Ruth Schneeberger and Heather Currie, you have driven me and inspired me to always chase my dreams. Thank you to my parents, who have supported me through thick and thin to help me on my journey. And to my amazing sponsors, who have also made it possible for me to train and compete at elite level: Kentucky Equine Research, Bonnetts Saddleworld, JA Photographics (Jessica Bee), GMR Interiors, Tailors of Distinction, Equistyle, QJ Riding Wear (Beck Casey), Karina Laudato Freestyles (Karina Pablo) and Kay PeeDesigns. Thank you to all my friends, family and supporters, you have helped me strive for my goals and I can't thank you all enough!! Massive congratulations to fellow team members, Chelsea Higgins, Joann Formosa and Nicole Blanks, I can not wait to represent our country together. Let's do this!!!!!

April 2014
Boot camp at Balmoral!

From 31st March - 4th April, there was a training camp held at Balmoral Equestrian Centre for the current top 3 Australian ranked Para-Equestrian combinations. Hatero and I are currently ranked 2nd in Australia (pretty cool, huh?!). I thoroughly enjoyed the daily lessons with National director, Julia Battams and also riding alongside Chelsea Higgins and Joann Formosa. Victoria Kahn, our trusty Equestrian physio also provided us with excellent treatments and helped us with our gym programs. We were given lectures on horse flight travel from IRT and also horse nutrition advice from Kentucky Equine Research (KER). These both were extremely valuable. I am very fortunate to be sponsored by KER, and I can not recommend their feed, supplements and services enough!

In between daily gym and riding sessions, it was nice to just chat about our dreams. WEG is so close now that we can taste it, so it's time for us all to keep up with the hard work and to never put any less than 110% into our work.

A very warm welcome to my new sponsor, QJ Riding Wear! Very excited to become a part of their team!

January 2014
Boneo Park CDI 2014

Hatero and I had a very successful competition at the Boneo Park CDI (a WEG 2014 qualifying event), still can't wipe the smile from my face! Hatero and I came home the Para-Equestrian Grade 3 champions after winning each day of competition! What a little packet of power that Spaniard is. He just kept offering more and more each day, I am so lucky to have the opportunity to ride a horse like him. He really does give it his all every single time I sit in the saddle.

30th December 2013
ABC film shoot!

Had such a fantastic day filming with the ABC! Hatero really put on a show for the camera, it's like he knew what was going on! I really couldn't think of a better way to end 2013.
Here is the final footage of the shoot:

Back in the Saddle!

Upon return from the Dressage Festival, I suffered a MS relapse, an attack of optic neuritis. I spent 3 days in hospital receiving IV Methyl Prednisolone treatment, then went home and proceeded to have a 6 day treatment course of Presnisolone tablets. I was ordered to rest by my neurologist, and was unable to ride for 2 weeks. Finally yesterday, I put my foot back in the stirrup and had an amazing ride on Hatero! Couldn't ask for a better natured stallion, he always looks after me and he did a particularly good job of that yesterday!

December 2013

I am very happy to announce that Heather Currie and Kerrie Massey have been very generous and loaned me Hatero De PB, aka, Harry, for my campaign for the World Equestrian Games (WEG) 2014!! This little PRE Andalusian stallion is trying his absolute heart out for me and we are beginning to form a great bond.

November 2013
 Sad news

This is one of the hardest things I have ever had to do. It is with great sadness and a heavy heart, that I have had to retire Charlie. He has sustained a fracture in his navicular bone, directly alongside a large cyst. Unfortunately he will never be able to be in work ever again.

He is my best friend, together we have been through so much. Travelled all over Australia qualifying for the 2012 London Paralympics, to then be named the Reserve for the Australian Para-Equestrian team. Together we have won both a State and National title. He has taught me so much, and I really do owe everything to him. The bond that has been created between Charlie and I will never grow old, he will always be a part of my life.

With only a few short weeks until the only Australian qualifying event for the 2014 World Equestrian Games, has made this even more heartbreaking. The search for another mount for WEG will be a tough one.

Thank you to everyone who has been supportive throughout Charlie and I's journey, we really do appreciate it. Without you all, it really would not have been possible for Charlie and I to have such a successful run as we did.

Most of all, thank you Charlie. I will always be forever thankful for you and what you have taught me. It's been an amazing ride.

January 2013
Hayley Beresford SA Clinic

Wow, what a clinic!!! It was such an amazing experience and I learnt so much from my lesson and from watching the other lessons. Charlie worked a treat and was a supertar!! I can not wait for her to return to SA again!

November 2012
Grade III Para-Equestrian International Champion!!

Have returned home from the Hong Kong CPEDI3*! I rode a borrowed horse named Keep on Easy. 'Easy' and I achieved 1st place on each day of competition and were named the grade III champions. Easy and I only had 1 day together prior to competing. All in all it was a fantastic competition!

July 2012

Ponderosa Stud Lucarno and I have been selected as the Reserve the for Australian Para-Equestrian team for the London 2012 Paralympic Games!!!
